Hôtel Beau-Site is modern and chic, offering up big portions of Riviera vibes without any palace pretensions. Sitting pretty in Saint-Clair – “the Pearl of Le Lavandou” – this hillside three-star over one among the most fabled beaches in all Var has recently been very successfully upgraded from its former life as a pension: now cool and contemporary inside with strict lines, glass balustrades, and that repeat-again color scheme mirroring sea-and-sky blue just outside the window view. Yes, it’s mostly for couples or someone single who wants shot after aesthetic panoramic views long into high-quality beach access directly rather than resort-type amenities involving a large pool plus animation team thrown in. Small family run; what matters here is purely visual splendor thanks to those Golden Islands out on some horizon.

Ups & Downs - Hôtel Beau-Site

  • The views are simply breathtaking; from virtually any spot within the hotel one can admire a wide panorama over the bay of Saint-Clair and the islands Le Levant and Port- Cros.
  • Inside, it is modern and stylish. Top quality bed linen, Nespresso machines, good efficient air conditioning- a huge step up in modernization from many of the old hotels around,
  • Access to Plage de Saint-Clair is excellent; a short (though steep) walk down the private path or the road gets you to the sand in less than 5 minutes.
  • The breakfast terrace is one of the high points of the stay, allowing guests to have their croissants and coffee while watching the sun climb out of the Mediterranean.
  • Management gets high marks for being friendly and helpful with excellent local dining-and-hiking advice.
  • × There is no elevator, and the property is built into a steep hill. This translates to navigating many stairs either up to the reception and rooms or down to the parking lot-a hardship for those with mobility issues.
  • × The bathrooms in standard rooms can be quite compact. Most have small shower cubicles and offer very little counter space for toiletries.
  • × Parking is available, but a confident driver will have to park because the place is tight and also sloping, maneuvering within a driveway.
  • × During the day, from the terrace, one can hear the noise of the coastal road beneath (Corniche), but at night it's mainly wave sounds that dominate and mask any other sound.
