Local Area

The hotel is in Saint-Clair, a particular area of Le Lavandou about 1.5 kilometers to the east from the main town and port. This distinction forms a basis for everything else because Saint-Clair has its own micro-climate and energy. The center of Le Lavandou is busy and built up with concrete but here it feels more residential, green, and hints at exclusivity. The hotel perches above Corniche varoise-the road that hugs all along this coast. That’s what gives it views also lifts you just that bit further back from being right on top of beachfront action.

The main star here is Plage de Saint-Clair. Regularly voted among the most beautiful beaches in all of France, for its crystal clear turquoise waters and fine sand, you can walk down from the hotel within minutes to reach your swim or dine at one of the famous beach clubs (paillotes) on the sand. Restaurants such as Le 5 or SunSea Plage offer amazing lunch options right over the water! At night this area is quieter than up by the main port with just a soothing backdrop sound track of cicadas and waves but still close enough that you can walk (20mins) or drive(3mins) into Le Lavandou if want nightlife.

For nature lovers, this is the spot where the Sentier du Littoral or Coastal Path can be picked up and followed east towards the rugged Fossette beach west to the port. The path winds around rocky headlands that are a photographer's dream, also providing access to tiny hidden coves (calanques) which cannot be reached by car. This whole area is very safe and upmarket, mostly holiday villas with a few other small hotels-an ideal location for an evening stroll.
